Made from a blend developed by a tea master, it is cultivated on the island of Kyushu, in southern Japan, under demanding and nature-friendly agricultural conditions.
🌱 An exceptional terroir
This matcha is cultivated by more than 200 partner organic farms, on rich and preserved land.
Unlike most intensive productions, only one harvest per year is carried out—a deliberate choice to guarantee:
• consistent quality
• leaves richer in nutrients
• a finer and more balanced taste
🌿 Shade-grown (4 to 6 weeks)
Before harvesting, the tea plants are protected from the sun by nets blocking approximately 80% of the light.
This traditional technique allows for:
• a high concentration of chlorophyll
• the development of tender young shoots
• a deep and luminous green color
• a natural richness in L-theanine
🍃 From leaf to matcha
After manual harvesting, the leaves become aracha, then are sorted by the tea master to retain only the most qualitative ones.
They are then:
• steamed to stop oxidation
• dried and transformed into tencha
• slowly ground on granite mills
👉 A mill takes nearly an hour to produce 30g of this matcha, to avoid any heating and to preserve the aromas, color, and fineness of the powder (≤ 100 microns).
