Hojicha is a green tea ground into powder, like matcha... but roasted 😉
The leaves follow the same steps as matcha:
• Steaming
• Cooling
• Drying
Then they are roasted, which develops deep roasted aromas and naturally reduces caffeine.

✨ Hojicha vs Matcha vs Coffee: what's the caffeine difference?
To give you a clear reference:
☕ Classic coffee (1 cup ~ 240 ml)
→ Approximately 80 to 120 mg of caffeine
🍵 Traditional matcha (1 g)
→ Approximately 30 to 40 mg of caffeine
🍂 Roasted hojicha matcha (1 g)
→ Approximately 15 mg of caffeine
👉 Hojicha therefore contains about 2 times less caffeine than matcha
👉 And up to 6 to 8 times less than coffee
Thanks to roasting, some of the caffeine is naturally reduced.
